Inspiration:
A common predator around the Port Lincoln region, one that is always on your mind when in the water. Though this animal is terrifying, they are absolutely stunning and I wanted to capture this as oppose to the dangerous side. I chose a black and white pallet to capture a ‘cruising’ moment in its simplest form. I utilised tonal work to try form an unbiased scene, I felt if I used colour, the teeth surrounded by red gums and or the pink fleshy scars, could appear dangerous and create a darker scene which wasn’t the feeling I was after in this piece.
